Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting that directed authorities to
increase supply of high-quality sports events and better utilize sports venues
and event resources. The meeting called for coordinated development of
competitive, professional and mass events and for integrating sports events with
culture, tourism and commerce to improve spectator experience and amplify
broader economic effects. It also ordered stronger event management and safety,
the cultivation of professional event operators, and improvement of venue,
personnel and institutional management systems.
