ING analysts said in a note the Fed’s Wednesday rate hike and signal of further tightening leave the euro exposed to further declines against the dollar in coming weeks. If oil spikes again and the Fed hikes as early as October, EUR/USD could break below 1.14 and test June lows near 1.132. ING said a likely synchronized Fed-ECB hike in December would be neutral for the currency. Conversely, ING expects EUR/USD to reach about 1.16 by year‑end if oil eases and risk sentiment improves.
