The recall covers 979 imported Jeep Wrangler hybrid vehicles produced 2023-09-05 to 2024-03-26 and 1,178 imported all‑new Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid vehicles produced 2023-07-19 to 2023-10-09. Some engines may have been contaminated by sand during casting; ingress of sand particles into internal engine components can cause engine failure and, in extreme cases, loss of drive or an engine‑bay fire, creating a safety hazard.
