A Weibo post by blogger Liji alleged Chinese restaurant chain Xibei will
collapse within 2–3 months, with founder Jia Guolong to assume most debts,
relinquish shares, leave about 100 outlets profitable to employee operation, and
attempt to preserve 3,000–4,000 livelihoods; the post said over 200 stores have
closed and more than 10,000 staff displaced. Xibei customer service responded
that all outlets nationwide are operating normally, the company will continue to
maintain product and service standards, and urge the public to treat online
reports rationally.
