BlackRock was approved as the first newly established foreign asset manager
granted QDII status, accelerating foreign public fund participation in
cross‑border investment. SAFE data showed the market's cumulative approved QDII
quota rose $5.3bn to $176.17bn at end‑March versus end‑2025; in late August SAFE
allocated a further $6.84bn across 89 institutions. As of end‑August, 196
institutions held a combined approved QDII quota of $183.01bn, and approved
quota for securities and fund institutions has exceeded for the first time
$100bn.
