Monitoring ahead of the Mid‑Autumn/National Day holidays shows rising air fares
and demand in China. On Sept. 20, popular long‑haul and homebound routes had
already posted large increases: the lowest listed fare for Oct. 7
Urumqi→Shanghai reached 3,070 yuan, about 99% above the 1,540 yuan lowest fare
for Sept. 24 Shanghai→Urumqi. Shenzhen–Chongqing also shows pricier returns:
Sept. 24 Shenzhen→Chongqing lowest fare 1,010 yuan; Oct. 7 Chongqing→Shenzhen
lowest fare 1,450 yuan, roughly 44% higher. Hangban Guanjia data as of Sept. 17
show average domestic economy booking price for the 2026 Mid‑Autumn/National Day
period at about 973.7 yuan (+9% YoY) and expected daily passenger volume up 3.1%
YoY, indicating concurrent increases in volume and prices.
