China CUSTOMS director Sun Meijun visited Uzbekistan Sept 15-17, meeting
Uzbekistan Customs Committee chairman Mavlonov to implement leaders' consensus,
advance bilateral customs cooperation and trade facilitation, and agreeing an
action plan. She signed cooperation documents with Food Safety Committee chair
Urunov on mutual quarantine for animal and plant products and on food safety
collaboration. During the visit Sun met embassy staff, held talks with Chinese
firms at Uzbek border ports to assess the operating environment, and consulted
Uzbek customs personnel trained in China for feedback on training.
