The Tehran Stock Exchange Composite Index closed down 115,000 points today at 7.28 million. Earlier, the index opened up as much as 22,000 points, regaining the 7.3 million mark. The National Copper Corporation of Iran dragged down the index by approximately 31,000 points, while the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Corporation contributed about 14,000 points to the gains. About 50% of stocks rose, while the other half fell; buy orders exceeded 6 trillion tomans, while sell orders totaled 2.3 trillion tomans. To date, individual investors have net withdrawn 8 billion tomans from gold funds, with fund share prices falling by 2% to 3%.
