At end-August 2026 the Shanghai Composite closed at 3,986.3, up 4.0% MoM; the
Shenzhen Composite closed at 14,015.0, up 3.2% MoM. Daily average turnover
across the two exchanges in August was 2.241 trillion yuan, down 16.5% MoM. The
Shanghai Gold Exchange Au (T+D) contract closed at 961.1 yuan/gram at
end-August, up 8.6% MoM. In August, gold traded on the Shanghai Gold Exchange
totaled 6,707.3 tons, up 66.9% YoY; gold turnover on the Shanghai Futures
Exchange totaled 17,000 tons, up 71.5% YoY.
