According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi, during a meeting with Iranian journalists in New York on Monday evening local time, stated that the visit was taking place against the backdrop of the "unjust war" waged against Iran by the United States and Israel, the subsequent evolution of the situation, and the ongoing state of war. Araqchi pointed out that the primary objective of the trip was naturally to defend the legitimate position, rights, and interests of the Iranian people on an important international platform. Regarding Iranian President Peskhziyan's schedule in New York, Araqchi explained that the president will deliver a speech and meet with scholars, media figures, and intellectuals from both Iran and abroad. He also stated that the president will give interviews to several media outlets and hold bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries; he himself will also meet with foreign ministers from several countries, providing an opportunity to review bilateral relations and a platform to clarify Iran's position and safeguard national interests. Speaking about other activities of the Iranian president and delegation, Araqchi indicated that several side events will be held, including a leaders' summit on environmental issues, and meetings held by organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement during the UN General Assembly.
