Technology first in the industry-grade segment, driven by deployments in
power inspection, industrial inspection and emergency firefighting and by a
mature product-and-solution suite. IDC notes consumer/research and industry use
are progressing in parallel—consumer/research boosts volumes and lowers costs,
while industry applications are the core commercialization path. Government and
industrial manufacturing are the two leading verticals; IDC expects continued
rapid growth in the industry-grade market.
