China's Ministry of Civil Affairs warned of fraudulent elderly-care mobile apps
operating under names such as "MinHuiTong". Scammers have forged documents and
impersonated ministry staff, claiming to distribute senior subsidies or special
welfare funds while demanding upfront insurance, deposits or activation fees, or
using 'check-in' rewards, high rebates and referral commissions to induce
deposits that later cannot be withdrawn. The ministry said it has never
established or approved projects named "MinHuiTong" and has not launched any
related products or apps. The public is urged to be vigilant and avoid
unverified information.
