According to Iranian media reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, upon arriving in New York, stated that the primary objective of his visit was to defend the rights and interests of the Iranian people within the framework of the United Nations. Speaking about the recent war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, Araqchi stated that the current state of war continues. He also criticized the United Nations for its ineffective performance in maintaining peace and security, emphasizing the need to restore trust in this international organization. Araqchi stated, "Due to the United Nations' ineffective performance in maintaining international peace and security, people have lost trust in the United Nations. Some countries believe they have the right to do whatever they want. Western and European countries have remained silent and have not made any serious condemnations."
