The Ukrainian military said its forces struck two Russian refineries, reporting
fires at the Bashneft plant in Ufa, Bashkortostan, and the Kuybyshev refinery in
Samara. Bashneft’s Ufa refinery has roughly 7.5 mln t/yr refining capacity,
processing crude into gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, LPG, sulfur and other oil
products. Kuybyshev, one of the largest facilities in the Samara refining group
and owned by Rosneft, has about 7.0 mln t/yr capacity producing gasoline,
diesel, fuel oil and more than 30 other products. Ukrainian forces said products
from both refineries are used to supply the Russian military.
