At a Shanghai conference on Sept. 22 on boosting high‑quality development of the
nuclear sector and strengthening nuclear safety, China Shipbuilding Power Group
unveiled the domestically developed "Hechai‑1" 6 MW‑class nuclear emergency
diesel generator set and opened the CSSC Hudong Heavy Machinery Nuclear Power
Service Center. The group said the rollout signifies China has fully mastered
autonomous design, R&D and manufacturing core technologies for this class of
units, addressing a prior gap in domestic high‑power emergency power equipment
for nuclear plants.
