Alibaba Cloud's AI Goals Are Ambitious: 20GW by 2032, with External Cloud Revenue Aiming for $170 Billion. CEO Wu Yongming stated at the Yunqi Conference that Alibaba Cloud's global AI capacity is projected to reach 20GW by 2032. Based on a 2022 target of 2GW, a capital expenditure of $30 billion per GW, and a revenue/capital expenditure ratio of 0.4 (70% of which is external cloud revenue), external cloud revenue is projected to reach approximately $170 billion by 2032, corresponding to a CAGR of approximately 40%. UBS expects Alibaba's FY27 capital expenditure to reach RMB 230 billion, which will be supported by self-construction, external leasing, and cooperation.
UBS maintains a "Buy" rating with a target price of $206, believing Alibaba to be a proxy for China's AI supply chain. As AI investment returns improve, the market will refocus on its AI assets and growth prospects. (UBS Report, September 22)
