China's Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate issued a today
joint case on the prosecution of Luo Mouhua and others for forging and selling
business licenses and food-service permits and registering 'ghost' food-delivery
shops for resale profit. They require courts and procuratorates to strictly
punish food-safety crimes while performing adjudicative and supervisory duties,
to coordinate with market regulators, issue judicial and prosecutorial
recommendations, launch targeted rectification campaigns and legal publicity,
and reinforce whole-chain supervision to enforce primary food-safety
responsibilities of online food sellers and third-party platform providers.
