Brazilian President Lula on Tuesday urged world leaders to take stronger action
against escalating global conflicts and warned foreign powers not to interfere
in Brazil’s internal affairs ahead of the presidential election. He criticized
the United Nations’ handling of the Ukraine and Middle East conflicts, called
for reform of the UN Security Council and said UN credibility is at its lowest
point. Lula warned 2025 could see the largest number of armed conflicts since
WWII and said trillions of dollars are fueling a new arms race.
