At a Sept. 23 regular briefing, Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian
said the main obstacle to fully restore cross-strait direct passenger flights
lies with DPP authorities and urged Taiwan to respond to public demand by
promptly removing unreasonable restrictions on cross-strait air transport so
carriers can schedule flights according to market demand ahead of the Mid-Autumn
and National Day holidays.
