Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a Sept. 23 interview that China’s large AI models
are overall very strong and that compute-per-unit performance is near the global
top. He said he expects China to address its compute shortfall faster than most
anticipating, estimating roughly two to three years to close the gap via
lithography and chip manufacturing.
