A formal agreement is expected to be signed between Poland and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) by the end of the year. The industrial base, located in Mechenia near Wrocław in southwestern Poland, will cover up to 280 hectares. The site was previously reserved for Intel, but the company withdrew last year due to cost-cutting measures. The Polish government's approximately $1.96 billion aid package previously prepared for the Intel project is expected to be used to support TEEMA member companies joining the industrial base. Sources indicate that Foxconn is expected to invest approximately $20 billion in the project. Poland anticipates that the project will create up to 40,000 jobs in the high-tech and manufacturing sectors, while also stimulating the development of research, medical, and educational infrastructure.
