It identifies agents as a new, key driver of compute demand, creating a multiplier effect on token consumption and prompting a significant upward revision to China’s intelligent-compute growth trajectory. IDC projects active agents rising from 79.4 mln in 2026 to 2.216 bln in 2030 (CAGR 129.8%); global token consumption is projected to grow at a 4,822.6% CAGR over the same period—about 37x the active-agent growth.
