Recent Fed reinforced remarks that inf pressures persist and the case for tighter policy. Lower oil eased energy-driven inf concerns and pushed US Treasury yields down, providing some support to precious metals, but not enough to offset dollar strength.

Beijing, Sept 22, 2026 — The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and New Zealand’s Ministry of Cities, Environment, Regional and Transport held their second China–New Zealand new-energy vehicle (NEV) dialogue in Beijing, co-chaired by MIIT chief engineer Wang Weiming and New Zealand deputy minister Chris Nies. Both sides said the dialogue mechanism will continue to support policy and industry cooperation in the NEV sector and builds on the first meeting in Wellington in December; relevant MIIT departments attended.
