Iranian President PEZESHKIAN said Iran has not attacked another country in the
past 200 years and has built its capabilities to protect national security, not
to treat neighbors as adversaries. On the Strait of Hormuz he warned that, under
sanctions, Iran cannot allow some countries unrestricted use of the waterway
while those countries use it to carry out attacks against Iran. He said Iran
will not yield to military pressure and is prepared to negotiate without using
force, pursue diplomatic solutions.
