US Export-Import Bank has proposed up to $6bn in financing for the Argentina LNG
project, YPF SA said, marking further Trump administration support for President
MILEI’s push for foreign investment. Italy’s Eni and Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC are also
equity investors; the consortium is seeking roughly $24bn of total funding to
build processing plants, pipelines and an FLNG unit. JPMorgan and Banco
Santander are among the banks being targeted to provide the bulk of loan
financing. YPF’s CEO said partners aim for a final investment decision in
November, likely contingent on letters of intent from banks and export credit
agencies to underpin loan arrangements; project financing in Argentina has
recovered under MILEI but remains smaller in scale and technically challenging.
