Vietnam is weighing a proposal to widen daily stock price bands to increase
investor appeal following FTSE Russell's upgrade of Vietnam to emerging-market
status, people familiar with the matter said. The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange has
raising proposed the daily price limit from 7% to 10% by end-December; the
change requires approval from the State Securities Commission and final sign-off
by the Ministry of Finance. The adjustment could be introduced as an
approximately six-month trial, after which regulators would review the impact
and may consider further changes.
