On the morning of Sept. 24 at the White House, President Xi Jinping said China
and U.S. economic and trade teams held a new round of consultations and reached
a new joint arrangement, which he described as positive for both countries'
industries, consumers and the global economy. Xi said stabilizing China-U.S.
economic ties requires expanding the cooperation agenda and narrowing the list
of outstanding issues; maintaining equality, mutual respect and reciprocity will
enable solutions. He said he hopes both sides will move toward each other,
adhere to a win‑win orientation, and help bilateral economic and trade relations
continue to stabilize and improve.
