Iran foreign minister Araghchi told Portugal foreign minister Paulo Rangel at a
UN General Assembly meeting that insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and
disruptions to shipping are a direct result of U.S. and Israeli "aggressive"
actions." He said restoring maritime security requires halting destabilizing
acts and U.S. "economic terrorism," and urged the EU and its member states to
take an independent, responsible stance consistent with international law on the
West Asia situation.
