On the 27th (local time) Iran foreign minister Araghchi said Tehran will not yield on its conditions and reopening the Strait of Hormuz depends on those conditions being met; any progress is conditional and Iran will not compromise. Araghchi said Iran has noted an initial US response to the reopening proposal but has not received detailed positions from the mediator and is awaiting the mediator's final stance before deciding. US President Trump said on the 26th he rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
