At the midday break the Hang Seng Index was up 0.64% at 24,666.09 after earlier
gains of more than 1%; the Hang Seng TECH Index was down 0.54% at 4,288.61.
Sector movers: pork names and oil & gas outperformed; mainland banks and
property names were active; autos faded after intraday strength. Technology
hardware underperformed — memory/storage themes sold off and PCB chains led
losses. Notable stock moves: Yangtze Optical Fiber & Cable (06869.HK) down ~14%;
Cambridge Technology (06166.HK), Zhongji Xuchuang (03308.HK) and Shenghong
Technology (02476.HK) down over 9%; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) down ~9%; Kingboard
Laminates (01888.HK) down >7%. Winners included CanSino Biologics (06185.HK)
+4.5%, NetEase (09999.HK) +4.4%, PetroChina (00857.HK) +4.0% and ICBC (01398.HK)
+2.4%.
