At midday closing, most domestic futures contracts declined, with lithium carbonate and silver falling over 5%, live hogs down over 4%, red dates, palladium, gold, and glass down nearly 3%, and coking coal down over 2%. On the upside, container shipping to Europe rose nearly 7%, methanol rose over 4%, fuel oil rose nearly 4%, propylene rose over 2%, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), soybean meal, and polypropylene rose over 1%.
