Huawei seeks win‑win cooperation with automakers and urges deeper OEM–supplier
collaboration rather than blanket in‑house development. He warned automakers to
carefully cost self-developed driving systems, saying required investment could
run from several billion to more than 10 billion yuan; with many automakers
selling under 1 mln units a year, software alone would add several thousand yuan
per vehicle before ongoing iteration and additional hardware/domain‑controller
costs, making in‑house development uneconomical.
