Earlier, a source familiar with the negotiations said the US and Iran were expected to hold mediated meetings on Sept. 28 or 29. Iran's foreign minister Araghchi and Qatari mediators are currently in the United States; talks are expected to focus on revising Iran's UN General Assembly proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.
