Sept 29 — China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said at a State
Council briefing that H2 live hog supply-demand has continued to improve; prices
have fluctuated but are generally rebounding, and spot hog prices have
stabilized above 11 yuan/kg. The ministry will continue dynamic market
monitoring and advise farms to pace production to consolidate the price
recovery. Policy focus is on two areas: capacity adjustment and sector
upgrading. For capacity, regulators will target major producing provinces and
counties with ongoing precision controls, encourage leading firms to reduce hog
production, and aim to keep breeding sow inventories within a reasonable range.
For upgrading, authorities will promote productivity and quality improvements to
support higher-quality development of the hog industry.
