MAS vice-chair Xu Fangda said on Tuesday Singapore will allocate S$1.45bn (about
$1.1bn) to five asset managers to support the domestic equity market. He said
this is the third tranche of funding under the S$650m Equity Market Development
Plan. MAS will also accelerate fund manager licensing and launch a $16m
market-making fund to increase trading liquidity in SGX-listed stocks.
