General Mohbi, spokesman for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated at a press conference: "The claim that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons is a century-old lie. 25 years ago, the US president stated that Iran would acquire nuclear weapons in a few weeks. If Iran were truly seeking nuclear weapons, and the US claimed it could not allow Iran to possess them, then why did the US president withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear issue? The purpose of the JCPOA was to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons."
