The Houthi rebels possess a multi-layered missile system, encompassing short- and medium-range ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and modified surface-to-air missiles. Research indicates that the Houthi missile capabilities have significantly evolved since their capture of Yemen's capital, Sana'a, and the seizure of Yemeni military stockpiles in 2014. The Houthis initially equipped themselves with missiles designed by the Soviet Union and others, but have gradually incorporated Iranian-designed missile systems. According to recent public statements by the Houthis, their known missile arsenal includes: 1. Palestine-2 missile: A two-stage solid-fuel missile announced by the Houthis. The group claims it possesses hypersonic capabilities and a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers. 2. Toufan missile: One of the Houthi long-range missile systems, reportedly with a range of approximately 1,350 to 1,950 kilometers. The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) assesses that the Toufan may be a renamed version of the Iranian Ghadr missile. 3. Burkan series missiles: Short- to medium-range ballistic missiles based on Iranian design. 4. Quds series cruise missiles: These missiles were mentioned by a Houthi spokesman following attacks on oil and economic facilities in the region. 5. Older stockpiled missiles: The Houthis have previously possessed or modified some older missile models, including the Scud-B/C, Tochka ballistic missiles, Qaher-1 ballistic missiles, and some anti-ship cruise missiles.
