KYODO reports Teikoku Databank survey shows firms plan price increases on 3,153
food and beverage items in October after 4,965 items were raised in September.
The survey cites Middle East tensions lifting crude oil and napatha prices and a
weaker yen raising import costs, which have pushed up packaging and input costs
that companies are passing to consumers.
