Jianghan New Materials said 6N-grade silicon tetrachloride (SiCl4) is primarily
for optical-fiber preform production; the company has held in-depth talks with
prospective customers but has not signed sales contracts and expects sales to
begin after production starts. It said 9N-grade TEOS targets semiconductor wafer
manufacturing—used in CVD to deposit SiO2 dielectric layers for device
isolation/interlayer insulation—whose primary customers are wafer fabs;
validation is relatively complex, the company is actively engaging prospectively
customers and has purchased CVD equipment to assist validation and shorten the
approval cycle.
