South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation said on
Sept. 30 that US Ambassador to South Africa Leo Brent Bozell III received a
diplomatic note and was summoned on Sept. 29 for alleged “non‑diplomatic
conduct." It was the third time since taking up his post this year that South
Africa has summoned him for breaching diplomatic norms and interfering in
domestic affairs.
