The Central Bank of Kazakhstan reported that it sold $200 million in foreign exchange from the National Fund in the domestic market in September. It also sold 374 billion tenge in foreign exchange in September to hedge gold purchases; it plans to sell 907 billion tenge in foreign exchange in the fourth quarter. In September, it purchased $286 million in foreign exchange for the National Pension Fund.
