China Railway Shanghai Group said passenger flows on the Yangtze River Delta rail network remains elevated, with about 4.0 mln passengers expected on Oct. 2. On Oct. 1 the network carried 4.427 mln passengers, topping the previous Oct. 1 holiday record of 4.205 mln and setting a new single‑day holiday high; Shanghai Railway Station handled 852,000 passengers, a station record. Since the Sept. 23 start of Mid‑Autumn/National Day travel through Oct. 1, cumulative regional rail traffic reached 29.459 mln passengers, averaging roughly 3.273 mln per day.
