As of Sept. 28, Chinese mutual funds have paid CNY121.57 billion in dividends year-to-date across 2,543 products and 4,829 distributions. Bond funds led payouts, with 1,870 bond funds disbursing CNY76.50 billion (over 60% of the total); 1,352 pure-bond funds accounted for CNY59.37 billion, roughly 80% of bond-fund distributions. Equity funds paid CNY35.51 billion from 462 funds (stock funds CNY28.15 billion; equity-biased hybrids CNY7.36 billion), and equity fund dividend frequency is up about 80% YoY. Thirty-one asset managers had products distributing more than CNY1 billion; several broad-based ETFs ranked among the largest payouts. Industry participants say dividends are being used to crystallize gains and relieve holding pressure amid market volatility.
