Maritime analysis firm Windward reports that container ship traffic through the Suez Canal increased by 59% between March and September as shipping companies returned. The number of vessels required per route has decreased, and freight rates have also declined. From September 3rd to 24th, the Shanghai-Rotterdam freight rate fell from $4,092 per 40-foot container to $3,485.
