China Railway Shanghai Group said Yangtze River Delta rail traffic is expected
to carry 3.84 mln passengers on Oct 4, versus 3.729 mln on Oct 3. Since holiday
transport began on Sep 23 through Oct 3 cumulative ridership reached 37.234 mln,
averaging about 3.385 mln per day. Routes to Shanghai, Suzhou, Yangzhou,
Hangzhou, Nanjing, Huangshan, Changsha, Qingdao, Fuzhou and Xiamen remain busy.
To match demand the group plans 104 additional services on Oct 4, will couple
294 EMU trains into longer formations and add 131 conventional cars to expand
capacity.
