On Oct. 3 local time Tehran opened a temporary military training base at Haft-e Tir Square to train civilians to resist foreign threats including the US and Israel. The site can host air-defence equipment drills and obstacle-crossing training. Authorities have already built a similar camp at another square and plan to run public training over the coming weeks. Ali Kousari, training commander of the Basij militia, said Iran is building whole-society civil-defence capabilities and warned that if the enemy again "misjudges the situation" and launches a new attack, the Iranian public will unite to resist.
