German Chancellor Merz arrived in Kyiv on Sunday and visited alongside the CEO of a German defense firm to express support for Ukrainian President Zelenskiy. Russian strikes on multiple Ukrainian cities have escalated in recent days. German government officials said Merz will announce an aid package comprising €1.0 bln in military assistance and €350 mln for energy-sector repairs. The visit is expected to finalize an agreement for joint German‑Ukrainian production of multiple drone types.
