China Railway Shanghai Group said Oct 5, the fifth day of the National Day
holiday, return passenger flows in the Yangtze River Delta increased and travel
demand remained high; Oct 5 is expected to carry more than 3.8 mln passengers.
On Oct 4 the group carried 3.755 mln. Since holiday transport began on Sept 23
through Oct 4 the region’s railways have carried 40.989 mln passengers,
averaging about 3.416 mln per day.
