On Oct. 5 local time UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said an oil tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz was hailed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and told to turn back or face attack. The incident occurred about 11 nautical miles north of Al Seeb, Oman, in the Sea of Oman. The vessel’s master confirmed the ship turned back as instructed. Authorities are investigating. UKMTO urges vessels to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
