The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said in multiple advisories that three
vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz and one tanker was ordered to turn
back by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). UKMTO advisories said
two oil tankers and one LPG carrier were struck by “unidentified projectiles” on
March 3 and 4; investigations are ongoing. A separate advisory said an oil
tanker entering the Strait on March 5 was ordered by the IRGC to turn back about
11 nautical miles north of As Sib, Oman; the vessel’s master confirmed the ship
complied.
